Children’s Day – बालदिन..!

Dear All,
As you know, Children’s Day – बालदिन in India is celebrated on November 14 which is the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru India’s first Prime Minister. The day is observed to honor his belief that children are the future of the nation and a way to commemorate his fondness for children who affectionately called him “Chacha Nehru”. Pt. Nehru used to love Children and he used to call them Flowers of the temple…

I am with Ms. Caroline Job…

True story:
Our close family friend Ms. Caroline Job who was well known professor of English, Sanskrit and Mathematic in Ahmedabad College, Gujarat. Pandit Nehru and Indira Gandhi were impressed due to her scholastic background and teaching experience when they visited her college in Gujarat. Later, she became very close friend of Indira Gandhi and Pt. Nehru. After India became independent, Ms. Job requested Children’s Day to be celebrated on November 14, which is Pt. Nehru’s BD. And thus, our first PM agreed upon it and so November 14 is celebrated as Children’s Day – बालदिन in India..!

Best regards,
Jayant.
